Title: Advisor, National Security Coalitions
Reports to: Director, Outreach
Job Summary: The Advisor, Coalitions is responsible for executing robust coalition activities to advance the organization’s policy priorities – particularly as they relate to national security – as well as representing Heritage to coalition partners in Washington D.C. and internationally, identifying growth opportunities with new and known audiences, and making recommendations on communication and collaboration with partners. As a representative of Heritage and the Outreach Department, the Advisor must possess excellent communication and presentation skills and effectively represent the organization to advance Heritage’s vision and mission.
Job Duties:
- Develop and execute coalition strategies to advance Heritage’s policy priorities – with a focus on national security – by leveraging a range of tools including coalition meetings, briefings, events, communication vehicles (digital, social media, press, etc.), and partnerships.
- Manage coalition activity with national and state-based conservative organizations, key stakeholders, and leaders.
- Represent Heritage priorities with coalition partners in Washington, D.C., across the country, and internationally by participating in meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Make strategic recommendations on building and growing relationships with national and state-based conservative movement organizations, key stakeholders, and leaders based on audience goals
- Curate and manage coalition partner database of new and known audiences; track ongoing movement activity in those audiences by issue; and develop new relationships.
Qualifications:
- Education: BA/BS required
- Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in coalitions, external affairs, policy, or communications; at least 3 years of specific experience in conservative public policy-based role is preferred
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Technology: Microsoft Suite; experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platform

The salary range for this role is $83,000 - $93,000 annually. This range is a good-faith estimate, and the final salary offered to a selected candidate depends on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, and other qualifications; internal and external market pay for comparable jobs; and level of hire based on aforementioned qualifications.
